How to drive more sales conversions through your booking engine

First impressions are everything and your website is where the magic happens. As our rollout of the new and improved RMS Booking Engine continues, we took the opportunity to create a checklist of the top ways you can optimize your booking engine to drive more sales conversions.

Step 1. Optimize your theme colors, logo and images

You’d be surprised how many people forget this step! Without your brand colors, a clear logo, plenty of high-quality images of your rooms and sites, and a lovely cover image to top it off, your bookings will look like this:

We take security very seriously, and so should you. By encrypting your booking engine URL, you’re protecting your data and your guests’ data from malicious outsiders, so do not forget this step.

Step 3. Make every booking go the extra mile with upselling

In RMS, extras are your upsell items – the things guests can tack onto their booking to get the best value from every reservation. You can set up almost anything to upsell, like merchandise, meals, activities, even towels twisted into a swan shape (who knows!?), but the more you can sell at the time your guest is making their reservation, the better the value of that sale.

Step 4. Keep cash flowing through your payment gateway

And finally, there’s not much point to selling all that goodness without having a way for your guests to pay for it! Whether you’re using RMS Pay or another gateway, don’t forget to set up your integration with your booking engine so your cash keeps flowing.
