RMS Cloud Proudly Supports Ronald McDonald House

RMS Cloud has entered into a technology partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities South East Queensland (RMHC SEQ), providing its industry-leading property management system and technical support free of charge to the charity’s South Brisbane and Herston Houses.

RMHC SEQ offers accommodation for families supporting seriously ill children, youngsters who often require significant medical treatment over extended hospital stays, or expectant mothers going through a difficult pregnancy.

Its South Brisbane House with 79 beds is the biggest in Australia - a crucial caring haven for more than 5000 families each year who have kids facing enormous challenges and need all the love and care only their family can provide.

“Patients come from all over Queensland, into northern NSW as well as the Northern Territory and there is very high demand for our rooms,” says Preshni Pillay, Executive Manager, Communications and Marketing, RMHC SEQ.

“It’s unfortunate that we’re usually full most of the time but we are very proud that we can provide support for these families, who are going through such a stressful experience. There’s a lot of research confirming how important it is to have families together at times like this.”

Preshni says the partnership with RMS Cloud will have a very real benefit - the money saved on property management technology will be diverted to operations, improving the environment for all who stay.

Tom Buttigieg, Corporate Account Manager at RMS, says the Melbourne-based company is proud to support Ronald McDonald House in South East Queensland.

“We’ve been working with the team there for many years and have been so impressed with the work they do,” says Buttigieg.

“We wanted to give back and are very pleased that we are now able to provide meaningful support to such a worthwhile community charity.”

Preshni says demand is increasing in line with strong population growth throughout Queensland and that there are firm plans to add more rooms at the South Brisbane facility in the 12 months.

Ronald McDonald House was co-founded in Philadelphia through McDonald’s and former NFL player Fred Hill and his wife Fran who saw a need for family after caring for a child with leukemia.  There are now 371 houses around the world and 18 in Australia.
