Sell the stay with stunning visuals.

Whether you're running a campground,  hotel, or serviced apartment, first impressions matter. And in today's market, photos are often your first impression.

Well-chosen, high-quality images instantly capture attention and convey the essence of your guest experience. They set expectations, inspire confidence, and, when done right, can even support a higher price point.

Step One:  Set your Booking Engine banner image.

The banner image is one of the first visuals guests see when browsing your accommodation options. It needs to be a high-quality photo of your accommodation or guests enjoying their stay.

We've noticed that many properties haven't yet set up their booking engine banner image. This is a simple, visual upgrade that can directly influence guest conversion.

What you need to do in RMS:

1. Navigate toSetup > Online Bookings > Photos. Select your property (if you have more than one).

2. Double-click/edit the image you want as yourBackground Image. Click theAdd +icon to upload a new image.

3. Tick theBanner imageoption.

4. Save and Exit.

Tip:  Your updated banner should appear on your live booking engine within 5-10 minutes. You can upload and test multiple images to determine which one works best for your property.

Step Two: Update images for rooms, cabins, or sites.

Research indicates that strong visuals have a significant impact on booking decisions. Now is the time to review and refresh your imagery for all accommodation options.

What you need to do in RMS:

1. Navigate toSetup > Online Bookings > Photos. Select your property (if you have more than one).

2. Locate your rooms/sites and ensure all images are current and displaying correctly. Click theAdd +icon to upload any new images

4. Save and Exit.

Tip: Ask a friend with a camera or hire a photographer to capture high-quality images of your rooms, cabins, or grounds. Clear, stylish photos set your property apart and attract more bookings.

Step Three: Write descriptions that convert.

Accurate, engaging descriptions help guests get excited about staying at your property and improve visibility across search and booking platforms. As guest preferences change and amenities evolve, it's essential to keep this content up to date.

Step Four: Upsell with extras to boost revenue.

Your RMS booking engine isn't just a tool for reservations; it's also a storefront where you can add on extras to suit your guests' needs.

Including well-presented extras and add-ons during the booking journey is a simple yet powerful way to increase average spend and deliver more memorable guest experiences.

Whether it's:

  • A bottle of local wine  is waiting on arrival.
  • Access to a fire pit or bike hire.
  • Late check-out for a relaxed departure.

Tip: These small touches don't just drive incremental revenue ; they also help guests customize their stay, leading to higher satisfaction and more 5-star reviews.

Step Five: Make your amenities work harder online.

Every room, cabin, or site offers something unique, so it's essential to ensure that these features are accurately reflected in your booking engine. From BBQs and coffee machines to secure parking and clotheslines, the right attributes help guests understand what's included and make more confident booking decisions.
