Congratulations to RMS client Cofton Holidays which has been named Holiday Park of the Year in the Campsites.co.uk annual camping and glamping awards.
How did they do it? By going above and beyond for their customers and continually reinvesting in park infrastructure, says Director Helen Scott, who runs Cofton Holidays with her three siblings.
The quartet were literally born into the industry after their parents, George and Valerie Jeffery, bought the sprawling 80-acre South Devon property in 1976.
Back then facilities were basic but now Cofton Holidays is five star all the way, winning the coveted top rating from Visit England last year, and looks after up to 4000 guests during the summer high season.

Hard Work Pays Off
“We’ve been working really hard. We’re always doing improvements and constantly working to make the park better,” she says.
“I think customers are a lot more discerning, so we keep aiming higher to stay ahead of the competition; we want to exceed customer expectations.”
Clearly, they’re on the right track, scooping the Holiday Park of The Year Award ahead of the 2500 plus camping and glamping sites listed on the Campsites.co.uk website.
“Winners were judged by our expert in-house team using various criteria, including metrics taken from the website, feedback from campers, site visits and our own analysis,” a Campsites.co.uk spokesperson explained.
“We’re really thrilled to win the award, it came out of the blue,” Helen says.
But there’s no time to sit back and celebrate with work well under way on the latest addition to Cofton, 12 luxury lodges scheduled to be fully operational by April.
That’s in addition to 450 camping pitches, 72 caravan holiday homes, 18 apartments, two swimming pools, fishing lakes, a café/restaurant and pub.
There’s also plenty of rolling green country meadows and lovely beaches nearby.
RMS Switch a Winner
It’s a lot to look after and Helen says switching to RMS almost three years ago has made life much easier from an admin, distribution and marketing perspective.
“We looked around at the market and felt that RMS was the best one to suit our needs and to be fair since we’ve changed, we’ve not looked back,” says Helen.
“It’s worked really, really well for us.”
She adds that marketing tools available through RMS was a big attraction.
“One of the reasons we moved to RMS was to get that connection with Google Analytics. We can follow a booking to see how much money spent and where it came from.
“That sort of analysis has really opened our eyes and helped us properly allocated our marketing budget.
“We think we’re ahead of the game with this and are striving to stay there.”
Park Cliffe and Pinecones Commended
Two other RMS clients, Park Cliffe Camping and Caravan Estate and Pinecones Caravan and Camping were also recognised in the Campsites.co.uk awards with commendations in the ‘Popular Choice Award’, due recognition for a couple of fantastic operators in the Lake District and Norfolk.
